High School Diploma Program

130 credits required for your high school diplomaThe High School Diploma Program at Visalia Adult School provides adults (18 years or older) the opportunity to earn their official high school diploma. This program is designed for individuals who wish to complete their secondary education, opening doors to higher education, improved employment opportunities, and personal growth.

Program Features:

  • Credit Requirements: A total of 130 credits are required to earn your high school diploma. These credits are distributed across core academic subjects. Refer to the credit categories below. The school counselor will provide a credit evaluation based on your previous school, official transcript records.
  • Flexible Learning Options: We offer classes in the morning, afternoon, and evening to accommodate diverse schedules.
  • Guidance: Upon enrollment, a placement test and transcript evaluation will help us assess your current skills and previous credits. Our counselor will review your credit needs and explain to tou the remaining credits you need to complete for diploma.
  • Work Experience for Credit: Qualified work experience may be applied towards elective credits, helping you reach your diploma goals faster.
  • Affordable Education: All high school diploma classes are free.

How to Register:

To enroll in the High School Diploma Program, please complete our online registration:

For New Students: Click "Create Account" on the registration portal to begin your enrollment.

For Returning Students: Please log in to your existing account using your credentials.

After completing your online registration, you will be directed to sign up for a placement test. You will need to complete the placement test before you will be enrolled in the program by the counselor.  Upon completion of your placement test, you will meet with the counselor to finalize your class schedule and credit evaluation.

*must complete a minimum of 12 hours at VAS to be considered a student before earning Diploma**

 Work experience may be used for credit recovery in lieu of elective credits.  Click here for the form.  You can either submit pay stubs with it or have an employer fill it out.
