Scholarship Recipients
Create opportunities for adults to achieve success.
Earning a scholarship is a huge accomplishment, and our students have truly risen to the challenge. We are incredibly proud to highlight those who have received outside scholarships, each of which represents a unique story of perseverance, passion, and talent. These awards are a recognition of their diverse journeys, and they show that hard work, in all its forms, is celebrated beyond our campus.

Live Your Dream
Kings County, Soroptimist Scholarship Recipient
I truly do feel grateful and blessed to have been able to receive this award. I am a daughter of immigrant parents. One of my biggest accomplishments is becoming a first generation Latina graduate. I am a first time mother with an 18 month old at home while pursuing nursing school.
I am inspired each day to think positively. Many times we focus on the negative things. For example, instead of saying, "I have to wake up early in the morning." I say, "I GET to wake up early, bless to see another day!" Changing my thinking to a positive way.
One thing I would say to students that feel they are unable to reach their goals is remember your why. Why did you start your path to this goal? Usually that helps me. I think of my daughter. I remember she is my why, my reason to conquer a career.
Visalia Adult School staff have been a support in achieving my goals to becoming a nurse with their encouragement and guidance.
"You never know what you can do until you try, so go on and give it your all!"
