Sequoia Adult Education Consortium

Visalia Adult School is a proud member of the Sequoias Adult Education Consortium (SAEC), a vital regional organization serving parts of Tulare and Kings Counties in California. The Consortium's mission is to facilitate the alignment and collaboration of adult education programs across our region.

We achieve this mission through close collaboration with a network of dedicated partners, including:

  • Alpaugh Unified School District
  • College of the Sequoias
  • Corcoran Joint Unified School District
  • Cutler-Orosi Joint Unified School District
  • Exeter Unified School District
  • Farmersville Unified School District
  • Hanford Joint Union High School District  
  • Lindsay Unified School District
  • Tulare Joint Union School District
  • Woodlake Unified School District

This extensive partnership ensures that adult learners throughout the region have access to comprehensive and well-coordinated educational opportunities, helping them achieve their academic, career, and personal goals. Additionally, the consortium includes partner organizations representing local community agencies and community based organizations.

Consortium Focus Areas

The Sequoia Adult Education Consortium works to develop a regional comprehensive plan to better serve the educational needs of adults across various vital areas. These include:

  • Basic Skills
  • High School Equivalency
  • Citizenship
  • English as a Second Language (ESL)
  • Workforce Preparation
  • Programs for Adults with Disabilities
  • Short-Term Career Technical Education
  • Programs for Apprentices

Through our collective efforts, we share resources, develop innovative programs, and create seamless pathways for students, contributing to a more skilled and educated workforce and a thriving local community. SAEC Adult Education Navigators

Navigators provide direct student services in the following areas: 

  • Job Readiness Workshops 
  • Program information and enrollment 
  • Outreach (please contact your local adult school)
  • Referrals to community services
  • Presentations on regional Adult Education Programs 
  • Support students with Student Career Plans set in place with their School Counselor
  • Other wrap around services
